HOW DOES SOCIALIZATION INFLUENCE DOG’S BEHAVIOUR?

Socialisation aims to correct this behaviour in dogs. It's a process that should begin when a dog is young but continue throughout adult life. Even a dog that has been adopted as an adult can benefit from socialisation training.

HOW TO TRAIN DOG FROM YOUNG AGE?

When your dog is still young, training school and puppy parties in your home and vet clinic are a fantastic opportunity for your dog to become friends with other dogs. Resist the temptation to coddle nervous dogs or reprimand severely rowdy ones. Dogs are social animals and need to learn about interacting with each other, not surprisingly, the best way to do this is through interacting.

Let them meet people of all shapes, sizes and ages and have some treats ready to help reward good behaviour. Remember to never leave your dog alone with toddlers or infants. Very young children might hurt or frighten them without meaning to and if your dog is young but continue throughout adult life. WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW THE RESPONSE OF YOUR DOG TO EYE CONTACT?.

Consider how you feel when someone stares at you directly rather than using normal eye contact. Just as you find it confronting, dogs also feel confused and threatened by direct head-on staring because it is a threat stance for them.

A dog that looks away in this situation is actually being polite and is seeking to avoid confrontation. Alternately, training your dog to make eye contact to communicate is extremely helpful for keeping his focus on you.

WHAT ARE OTHER IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS?

Other points such as understanding your dog’s bark, eye signals, facial expressions and taking care of their emotional needs are very much important to create a long lasting and brilliant bond with them. In case of aggressive dogs, take help from your professional vets and their consultancy can help you out in correcting dog’s behaviour.
